Good to Know
A unit remodel can include the kitchen, bath, floors, layout, or the full unit. ABBA prepares the plan for the board or manager to review. The scope sets out what belongs to the unit and what is shared. That review is part of planning the work.
ABBA also works on shared parts of the building. The work is priced and built to the engineer’s plans and scope. The board and manager are kept up to date. ABBA reviews the drawings and visits the site before pricing the work. Questions about the plan are raised at that stage.
The plan for review includes the scope and drawings or product details. Proof of insurance and a schedule are included too. Before work starts, we plan work hours, parking, elevator use, and waste removal. Shared water shutoffs go through the manager. Halls, floors, and nearby units are protected during work.
The written contract sets the scope, price, and payment plan. For building work, access and staging are agreed with the board, manager, and engineer. Photos record what is found behind finishes. Added work needs a signed change order before it is done.
