Good to Know
The listed work includes new foundations, footings, poured walls, stem walls, and slabs. It also includes new beams and posts, plus replacement of rotted sills and rim joists. The drawings set out the work. The repair or new foundation is built to the approved plan for the project.
A New Jersey licensed engineer checks the structure and designs the repair or new foundation. ABBA records what is found on site and builds to the approved drawings. Soil testing, when needed, is done by a geotechnical engineer. ABBA does not perform that testing.
Foundation work can be part of a house, addition, garage, porch, or deck project. The plan sets out the structure and the work around it. ABBA obtains permits and coordinates the work to the drawings. Excavation and reinforcement are inspected before each pour.
The engineer’s repair plan and the site conditions shape the work. Digging depth, access, concrete volume, and temporary support may all be part of the scope. The plan also accounts for restoring finishes and the ground around the work. A written proposal sets out the work and price before it starts.
